You will begin with camera history, anatomy, sensor sizes, and the core dynamics of the Exposure Triangle learning to balance Shutter Speed, Aperture, and ISO for flawless artistic control. The technical foundation deepens as you read histograms, configure professional RAW settings, and utilize light meters and custom white balance for accurate skin tones. From there, you will step into the studio to master advanced speedlight systems, wireless triggers, and eleven iconic portrait lighting patterns, ranging from Rembrandt to Clamshell setups.
The course then moves into specialized creative fields, exploring product photography in mini-studios, telephoto lens techniques, focal length distortions, and lens adapters. Finally, you will learn critical industry survival skills, including diagnosing chromatic aberration, avoiding common photography mistakes, navigating digital color profiles, and exploring the future of camera tech. The curriculum wraps up with practical consumer knowledge, teaching you exactly how to choose the right gear, inspect used cameras or lenses before buying, and properly maintain your equipment setup for long-term professional success.
Students will have access to our state-of-the-art studio floor and will participate in weekly field trips to varied locations around Kathmandu to practice natural light photography.
